
Carpenter bees reproduce through the process of swarming. A female carpenter bee will leave her hive and find a suitable location to build a new nest, usually in an abandoned woodpile or other structure that is close enough for her to return home with food supplies.
Once she has found such a site, she begins building a small cavity into which she can deposit eggs.
