Honeybees are social insects. The term “social” means they live in colonies with a queen bee who lays eggs for them to feed on. They also have worker bees which do all of the work around their hive.

On the other hand, carpenter bees are not social at all; instead, each one lives alone or in small groups. Their nests can be found anywhere from under logs to inside hollow trees.
