Carpenter bees can sting humans, but they rarely do so. They aren’t aggressive insects, so you only have a high chance of being stung when you poke a finger inside their nests and disturb their habitat.

Additionally, only female carpenter bees have the ability to sting humans. When you’re stung by a carpenter bee, you’ll immediately feel a sharp pain and burning sensation on the sting site and surrounding areas.
